2012 Breakdown Quarterly/Annual Report

Hello again everyone.  I know you might be thinking that you’ve already a seen a Breakdown for this month, but I would like to see what exactly I have been able to accomplish in my overall debt from when I started to today.  In the future, I will have quarterly breakdowns as well as annual breakdown reviews of both my debt and my raindrop progress, but since I only truly started keeping track in October, this is the only quarterly/annual report that I will have for 2012.

I have an excel sheet that I have developed to see what all I have been able to compare month to month on everything, and I will be showing you how to create your own for your home.  You could easily adapt it for a business as well.  However, that’s for next time… so let’s get down to business shall we?

From the months of October to December, I made a few changes in my bill payment methods.  Thanks to the advice of some of you, I have started doing an adapted version of Ramsey’s “snowball” effect.  I also transferred a big chunk of my credit card debt to a 0% APR credit card that was issued through my credit union.  This has allowed me to progressively work towards getting rid of my high APR cards and avoid the interest monster for a year.

Unfortunately in the middle of November, I left my job because I had no choice. Thankfully, after waiting six weeks to make sure there was going to be no contest from my former employer, I was relieved to announce that I did indeed win unemployment and cannot help but say that it has truly been a relief on my savings.

Of course, my “fun” expenses have taken a plummet because of that unemployment status.  In fact, from that particular segment of my expenses, it changed from nearly $300 to a mere $75. And that expense is only that high because I’m currently relying on gift cards that I was given over the course of the holidays and my birthday to liven it up sporadically over the next few months.

My gasoline and food budget have also exponentially decreased.  While I was working, I found that I was spending 1/4 – 1/3 of my monthly income on just fuel.  I was then spending a near 1/4 of my monthly income on food that I was eating before, during, or after work.  It’s kind of an eye opener how much of my income was based on necessities and now how I’m easily living on just selling excess on ebay and amazon as well my unemployment.  Crazy.

I have, however, reduced my debt by $819.91! Even with my crazy, expense-filled December, this difference is so inspirational I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I still made a difference despite the problems I faced this quarter.  Thank goodness right???

Goal Progress Report – Mid December 2012

Time to see what all I have accomplished thus far…

Money Goals

  • Find a few ways for this Rainy Day blog to make some funds, however small it may be…
  • Sell unneeded items on ebay and amazon to make extra $.
  • To make enough money this month to pay either my car payment ($301), my auto insurance ($336), or both.
  • To make enough money to pay all my bills without hurting my savings account too much.
  • To find a job.

Well, I’m still technically working on all of these still.  However, I have had some luck with ebay and amazon the last couple of weeks and it has been helping me pay for a part of my bills.  I’m not sure if we’ve reached the car payment mark yet, but it’s still a decent chunk!

Rainy Day Goals

  • To finish the cabinet revival.
  • Finish the Christmas tree.
  • Help my mother organize/clean the home.
  • Find alternative means for gifts for those on my gift list.
  • Get rid of unneeded items that can either not be sold or donated.
  • To continue organizing my room for optimal business format/personal use.

Cabinets and Christmas tree are finished!  So we’ve been cleaning and organizing the house when we can.  So far I’ve been focusing on the items that I can sell right now, but the next things on my list are donations and trash.  My room is still obviously the ongoing goal again…

Personal Goals

  • Continue the MWF posts for Rainy Day.
  • Add artwork to various art sites and sell my artwork online.
  • Continue my art blog.
  • Refine my gamer blog/podcast and restart it.

I would like to say that every single one of these has been done except my art blog!  I still have to update that, but everything else has been done.  YAY!

All of these goals still need lots of work, but I still have some time to get things done!

A Raindrop – Amazon Marketplace HURRAY FOR THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

All I can say is that I am loving the Christmas season right now!  My Amazon Marketplace (which you can access here) is exploding with orders!  Just in the last three weeks, I have sold 110+ items!  That’s awesome!

Now my shop is more of a service honestly.  I sell all sorts of media including dvds, blu-rays, video games, pc games, console games, college textbooks, regular books, games, stickers, toys, whatever I can honestly for people and myself.  When I sell for others, I take a 20% commission fee as I have bulked out my shipping supplies and can save SO much money for others.  Right now, we’re rocking on the video games, dvds, and blu-rays.  So many season box sets are in my inventory and I can’t seem to keep them in stock right now!

Certainly fine by me!  If you’re needing an item, go ahead and check out my shop (DecMeadow’s Shelves) and see if anything interests you or can be a great gift for one of your family members!  Right now this is the biggest source of income I have due to my unemployment status and the more the merrier!

Make sure that you also take a peek at my ebay site as well.  I am trying to downsize on my collections and earn some extra cash to help pay for my bills.  And let’s not forget my art site!

If you want to insure that the item is received by Christmas, the last day to send out is December 19th!  So don’t delay!

P.S. Thanks for all your help and interest guys!  I really appreciate it 🙂

A Raindrop – Cyber Monday Prep & Amazon Marketplace

I hope you all enjoyed your Turkey Day!  Now Black Friday deals are upon us, and I’m taking full advantage considering my lack of income now!

I’m not sure if I’ve told you all this, but I have a store on Amazon.  I started out selling college textbooks for friends and myself while I was in college.  This soon expanded to dvds, music cds, record albums, video games, etc…  People come to me with their items and I sell them on my store and take a 20% commission once they sell after shipping costs.  The past few months have been slow, but because of Black Friday & Cyber Monday, I’m about to be REALLY busy.

The Christmas season is upon us, and I know for sure that I’m going to be swamped with orders.  I barely had started selling dvds and various other items last year and nearly sold $800 worth of items for people last year.  That’s not bad!  This year I have greatly increased my inventory and am hoping that it will do the exact same thing this year.  I can only hope that the economy really is taking a turn for the better.  I really need to make some money right now.

If you’re wanting to find some deals or see what I currently have online at my store, please go check out DecMeadow’s Shelves.  New items are being added every day at this point, so check often.  I would greatly appreciate your business!

Do you have a side business that you’re trying to grow?  Let me know!  Have any tips or want to sell something through me?  Again, let me know!
