Goal Achievement Report – December 2012

Well, January is here and it’s time to see what all I accomplished in December! Holding myself accountable on these things have helped me make a lot of progress on myself and my life.  Thanks guys!  Please keep it up and I promise to do the same.  😉

Money Goals

  • Find a few ways for this Rainy Day blog to make some funds, however small it may be…
  • Sell unneeded items on ebay and amazon to make extra $.
  • To make enough money this month to pay either my car payment ($301), my auto insurance ($336), or both.
  • To make enough money to pay all my bills without hurting my savings account too much.
  • To find a job.

Alright, still looking into finding ways of this blog making me money.  If you have any ideas, please let me know.  Also, I am happy to say that I did indeed sell a bunch of items on amazon and ebay and ended up being in between ($436 in between) the car + auto insurance total with just this accomplishment!  Yay, me!  As for the rest of the bills, they were paid for with the unemployment that I ended up receiving and then some.

Still no luck on finding a job, but with unemployment coming in… I have some time to find one now and I don’t have to be too desperate.  It’s time to make me better and that’s exactly my intention.

Rainy Day Goals

  • To finish the cabinet revival.
  • Finish the Christmas tree.
  • Help my mother organize/clean the home.
  • Find alternative means for gifts for those on my gift list.
  • Get rid of unneeded items that can either not be sold or donated.
  • To continue organizing my room for optimal business format/personal use.

Cabinet revival and Christmas tree are finished thankfully!  I’ll have posts for you soon as it has been a pretty hectic month.  I’ve been cleaning and organizing the home with my mom (it can always use more work), but sadly my room has been neglected because of it and now needs a deep cleansing.  I usually end up spending about $300-400 in Christmas gifts each year, but I was able to scale that down to $100 and the people I gave gifts to were still just as happy!  Who knew?  When it came to the alternative gifts, it ended up becoming an alternative means to make money, and I’ll be sure to let you know when the time is right on just what I did with that too!

Personal Goals

  • Continue the MWF posts for Rainy Day.
  • Add artwork to various art sites and sell my artwork online.
  • Continue my art blog.
  • Refine my gamer blog/podcast and restart it.

I ended up only missing a couple of days this month on the MWF post schedule for Rainy Day.  That’s not bad!  Honestly, I took about a week off (Christmas-New Years) and only posted things that I already had in the wings to make up for it.  I’ve added artwork onto BigCartel, renewed my subscription to Deviantart (which I will be updating this month), and will be updating my artwork blog this coming week as well.  I have also restarted the gamer blog and a podcast is in the wings!

Overall, I would say MOST of my goals were accomplished, and I am most proud of myself!

Goal Progress Report – Mid December 2012

Time to see what all I have accomplished thus far…

Well, I’m still technically working on all of these still.  However, I have had some luck with ebay and amazon the last couple of weeks and it has been helping me pay for a part of my bills.  I’m not sure if we’ve reached the car payment mark yet, but it’s still a decent chunk!

Cabinets and Christmas tree are finished!  So we’ve been cleaning and organizing the house when we can.  So far I’ve been focusing on the items that I can sell right now, but the next things on my list are donations and trash.  My room is still obviously the ongoing goal again…

Personal Goals

  • Continue the MWF posts for Rainy Day.
  • Add artwork to various art sites and sell my artwork online.
  • Continue my art blog.
  • Refine my gamer blog/podcast and restart it.

I would like to say that every single one of these has been done except my art blog!  I still have to update that, but everything else has been done.  YAY!

All of these goals still need lots of work, but I still have some time to get things done!

Goals for December 2012

Well December is here as we all know.  As of today there are only 18 days til Christmas!  That usually means that people are scrambling to get things done and gifts bought for loved ones.  I, however, have other things on my mind.  Because this month gets a little hectic in my world, I feel I need to put down my goals in writing ahead of time just to make sure that I don’t forget something along the way.

Well, that should be enough right?  Let’s see if I can attain these or not.  The particularly interesting ones are going to be the money goals.

Surgery & Rainy Day Goal Updates

Again, thanks for being cool this week and understanding there’s been a few things on my mind.  The surgery went well on Wednesday.  We arrived at 5:30 am; went through some prep and last minute paperwork.  She was hooked up to an IV and being readied for her anesthesia when the surgeon came in and asked her a few more questions.

The left knee is the one that was operated upon because it had been causing her more pain.  Originally it had been the right, but because she blew it out in April, there wasn’t much they could do.  It’s been put off for almost a year and finally one was “fixed” on Wednesday.

The surgery went so well that it was only about an hour after they had taken her to the OR that she was back out.  Couple of tears were repaired and few other minute details were taken care of and voila!  Her knee should be good as new in about six weeks.  It just has to heal at this point.

Now that the numbing agent that they administered while in surgery is gone however, she is feeling a lot more pain.  My mother has a high tolerance of pain (which I thankfully inherited), but the fact that she is having trouble walking at the moment is a bit upsetting.  Understandable, yes… but most certainly upsetting.  I can only hope that it truly worth it and it heals properly so she can get the other done next year.

Best thing about this though is that because of her surgeries being pushed back, she will have both Thanksgiving and Christmas off by default because of the necessary six-eight week medical leave her surgeon insists her having.

Since I rattled on about that, here’s a few other things.  The cabinets are looking and feeling good with their first sanding finished.  I’ll be able to move to the finer sandpaper tomorrow and finish the sanding.

The organization of my room is still slowly being worked out and thankfully my man has been a great helper in that!  Thank you dear!

With the warmer weather expected this weekend, we anticipate the Christmas decorations/tree to be started and (hopefully) finished.

Pictures and full updates on the processes to come!

Rainy Day Goal #2 – Surgery Prep

I’m going to apologize for the quick posts that will appear this week.  I have a lot of things to do outside of my blog because of a few things you will soon learn.  Thanks for showing up and reading them even so!  I love seeing the reader stats knowing that there are others out there that may be learning or feeling the same hardships that I am currently.  A comment goes a long way too!  They have all been putting a smile on my face, and I hope to become more personal on acknowledging you all this week (hopefully).

My mother is having knee surgery on Wednesday and will be out for six weeks from work because of it.  As a result, she and the rest of us have been working diligently to try and get things in order before she has it in order to make everyone’s lives easier during this holiday season.  Furniture is being moved, rooms are being cleaned, etc…

So the goal is to get as much of this done as possible before Wednesday and make it easier for my mother to get around/appreciate her surroundings without worrying about household chores (that she shouldn’t obviously be doing because of the strain it will put on her knee) in the meantime.

Again, I know it’s short, but I have a few extra projects I have in mind that I will let you know about during this surgery prep.  The goal is to have a couple of cabinets that have been in the garage for years to be sanded and painted this week as well as the Christmas tree up and decorated.  I’ll have more lengthy goal posts for those (plus pictures), so be prepared!
