Clutter-busting Saturday #2 – 14 Items!

Not bad for a simple days work.  The catalogs are being recycled, the pencils and pencil sharpener and being sent to my little brother along with the drawing pad that I found a week ago that would be perfect for his budding artist talents.  The calendar?  Well that was a choice I made after a lot of thinking and finally just shrugging it away simply with a “Well, I do have an organizer now…” type of thought.

Clutter-busting Saturday #1

While you all read this, I’m out in the back having a couple of drinks and enjoying the party.  My little brother graduated last night and I’m pretty darn proud of him.  He’ll be going to Purdue University and is going to be in the All-American Marching Band.  That boy has talent, and as I said, I’m pretty proud.  Please excuse the short post, as I tried to make sure I had as much finished and pre-written as possible and published.  Lots of cleaning, organizing, and oh, furniture receiving to do this past week.

During the apartment suite clean up, I bought a couple of really awesome pencil/marker/pen organizers for me.  The picture below is what happens when I get in an organizing mood and decide that I’m going to feel that acrylic display so that my pencils and markers are organized by color and shade.  Sadly… this is only a small amount of what I actually own when it comes to the handy art utensils that I love so much.  But I think you get the idea.

May’s Clutter-busting Challenge = 440 TOTAL ITEMS!

Well, May has come and gone, and with it a lot of items have said goodbye and good riddance during said time.  To be more exact, I got rid of 440 total items during the month of May.  HOLY COW!  I didn’t even realize I was carrying some of that stuff honestly.  It was so nice to see that amount climb over the weeks as I was purging, cleaning, and organizing my little suite that I’ve put together upstairs.  I’m pretty happy with the way things are going so far; there is still a lot to do, but I’m up for the task.  Now that there is a lot less stuff to worry about, it looks easier as well.  And THAT, makes me even more happy.

440 items guys… That’s just… WOW.  I still can’t get over it.

As I know I still have things that I can get rid either by donating, selling, or trashing, I’m going to continue my clutter busting on Saturdays and will have updated posts for you there.  I probably won’t keep a tally of the totals, but the pictures will probably speak for themselves.  Right?

Lose the F.A.T. in Your Office!

I found this article incredibly motivating. I am most certainly someone who is guilty of this, as right now my desk area looks like a bomb went off with no warning. I’m hoping that my week long organization project helps in this so that not only are my future guests next weekend happy, but I’m happy too.

Welcome to...

Tired of those piles of paper, missed appointments and lost documents?

Well, you need to ‘Just Get Organized’ once and for all.

When it comes to paper, the saying “Out of sight, out of mind” is the fear of some people.  The opposite is just as true “Insight, in mind”.  Clear the clutter and eliminate the distractions.  Working with a cluttered desk can lead to procrastination, important calls being missed, bills going unpaid, vital records misplaced and mostly, distract you from the things that matter most to you.  Some studies suggest that as much as 1½ hours per day can be wasted because of a messy desk – YIKES !!…………What would you rather do with that extra time?

Have items you use everyday within arms reach of your desk chair.  Less frequently used items or papers can be filed and stored away in file…
